asked the Minister for Local Government if he will make funds available to Cork County Council from the Local Loans Fund to finance the payment of an agreed special contribution to the Whitegate extensions group water supply scheme which is due for some years.

I have advised the council that I would prepared to sanction the raising of a loan for this purpose from the council's treasurer, repayments on which would qualify for a subsidy of 50 per cent.
