asked the Minister for Fisheries if he has any proposals to improve harbour facilities at Belderrig, Ballina, County Mayo.

My Department made proposals in March, 1974, to Mayo County Council, who are responsible for Belderrig harbour, with a view to improving the harbour. A State grant of 75 per cent of the cost of this scheme was offered to the county council. This offer was accepted only in relation to the provision of a winch which was installed at the harbour. My Department are at present examining alternative proposals made by the fishermen.
