Married allowance and separated wives

Summary

The Minister said the increased married allowance would apply generally, while working wives would retain the existing £230 allowance. A question about separated wives was cut off by the Chair.

Thomas J. Fitzpatrick Mr. T. J. Fitzpatrick Fine Gael

(Cavan-Monaghan): Will there be a similar married allowance for all married couples?

Comment on this

Yes, except that where there is a working married wife she would continue to get the existing allowance of £230.
