asked the Minister for the Environment the present position relating to the proposed new bridge over the River Shannon at Shannonbridge, County Offaly.

Offaly County Council proposed in May, 1976, to carry out site investigations for a new bridge at an alternative location to replace the existing structure. In August, 1976, the Council were asked for information about the feasibility and cost of reconstructing the existing bridge. This information has not yet been furnished to my Department.
