asked the Minister for Labour the action he has taken for the re-employment of redundant workers from the firm Jacobson Fasteners, Bandon, County Cork.

I arranged to have the redundant workers of Jacobson Fasteners, Bandon, interviewed by officers of the National Manpower Service. I am pleased to say that of the total workforce of 45, 29 employees have been placed in alternative employment while a further eight have been shortlisted for interview.

The remaining eight will be retained by Jacobson until the end of February, 1978, and efforts to find them suitable alternative employment are continuing. Of the latter group one has already secured a job in Bandon starting on 1st March, 1978.
