Travel pass photo issuing arrangements

Summary

The Minister said photo passes are available at CIE offices in five cities and rejected mobile issuing or authorised-photo alternatives as unnecessary.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if, in order to facilitate holders of free travel passes, particularly the old and infirm, who wish to acquire photo passes, he will seek the provision of a mobile photo pass issuing service or the acceptance of a photograph duly authorised by the local Garda sergeant, clergy or designated public notaries.

Comment on this

Photo passes are required only in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford and are made readily available at the offices of CIE in those cities. These arrangements seem satisfactory to me and I do not see a need for the introduction of alternative arrangements as suggested by the Deputy.
