Political and Union Activities of State-Body Staff
The Minister said he imposes no restrictions on State-body staff’s political or trade union activities; seconded civil servants remain subject to the usual civil service rules on political activity.
asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport if it is his policy to place restrictions on the political or trade union activities of staff employed by State-sponsored bodies associated with his Department; the organisations concerned; and the nature of these restrictions.

There are no restrictions imposed by me on the political or trade union activities of staff employed by the State bodies under my aegis.
Civil servants on secondment to State bodies remain subject to the normal regulations governing civil servants, in particular those regarding civil servants and politics.
