asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will restore the sheep and lamb subsidies recently withdrawn from farmers in the Mount Kennedy and Fews electoral divisions of County Waterford.

Grants were withheld in 1977 from the flock owners concerned because the mountain grazings on which they stated that their sheep were maintained are located outside the designated disadvantaged areas. I am having the matter specially investigated however and will be in touch with the Deputy as soon as possible.
