Albatros Fertilisers public funding and contracts
Albatros Fertilisers has received £534,774, mainly in IDA grants. The Minister declined to assess its prospects, noting that supply contracts with Carlow Sugar are for the companies to negotiate.
asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy the total amounts of public money invested in the firm Albatros Fertilisers Limited; and if he will make a statement regarding the future propects of this firm and, in particular, if its contracts to supply the Carlow Sugar Company are assured.

A total of £534,774, principally in the form of IDA grants, has been paid to Albatros Fertilisers Limited to-date.
It would not be appropriate for me to express an opinion regarding the future prospects of this private sector firm. The question of the company's contracts to supply the Sugar Company is of course a matter for negotiation between the two companies.
