Access to public buildings for disabled people
Mitchell asked what was being done to make public buildings, including Leinster House, accessible to disabled people. The Chair ruled the matter separate from the employment question and moved on; Mitchell sought to raise it on the Adjournment, and the Chair said he would communicate with him.
What steps have been taken to make public buildings accessible to such disabled people?

That is a separate question. There are 359 questions on the order Paper and we are now half an hour at 14 questions. If we are to allow questions that are remotely associated with the question on the Order Paper we can spend all day on a few questions. I must rule them out.

With the greatest respect, I would like to refer you to the wording of the question. I asked what steps have been taken by the Minister——

The Minister said there is an Inter-Departmental Committee working on this. I anticipate they will report on this matter. Why are not public buildings, including Leinster House, being prepared for access for disabled persons?

Can I take it from the Minister's reply that no action has been taken with regard to access to public buildings for disabled people?

In view of that I would like to ask permission to raise this matter on the Adjournment.
