Summary

O’Connell asked about warnings that inadequate dental hospital facilities would cause a serious shortage of teachers; Tunney said efforts were being made to provide the required facilities.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the statement by the President of the Irish Dental Association that a serious shortage of dental teachers was inevitable in view of the present unsatisfactory dental hospital facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have seen Press reports regarding the statement of the president of the Irish Dental Association referred to by the Deputy. Every effort is being made to provide the level of facilities required by the dental hospital.
