asked the Minister for the Environment if there are statistics available as to the number of accidents, particularly fatal accidents, involving heavy goods vehicles.

Statistics of all road accidents reported to the Garda, including accidents involving heavy good vehicles, are obtainable from the booklet titled "Road Accident Facts", which is published annually by An Foras Forbartha. I am arranging to have a copy of the latest publication sent to the Deputy.
