Dublin local authority housing completions
Dr. Browne requested dwelling-completion figures and estimates of building workers employed in the Dublin authority areas for four years. The Minister provided a tabular statement for circulation, noting differences in the records and employment figures.
asked the Minister for the Environment (a) the number of local authority dwellings completed in the Dublin Corporation, Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation areas, and (b) if he will give an estimate of the number of building workers employed, during the years 1950, 1960, 1970 and 1977.

(1) Records available in my Department for the years prior to 1974 relate to the financial year from 1 April to 31 March.
(2) The figures for Dublin Corporation include, in respect of the financial year 1950-51, employment on the reconditioning of existing dwellings, the cost of which was financed from local authority housing capital at the time.
(3) The figures for employment include the numbers of men engaged on the provision of developed sites for private housing, financed from local authority housing capital.
