‹ Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potato Imports. Potato import restrictions
Summary
The Minister said no ware potato imports have been authorised this year and none are expected soon, citing plant health and animal disease concerns.
asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will restrict the importation of potatoes until 20 June 1978.
Comment on this
Our controls on imports of potatoes are based on plant health and animal disease grounds. No imports of ware potatoes have been authorised by my Department this year and, on general plant health and animal disease grounds, I do not envisage that any will be authorised in the near future.
