Ceisteanna—Questions . Oral Answers . - Planning Permission Applications .

the Minister for the Environment if he will state in respect of each planning authority (a) the total numbers of applications for planning permission which have been refused in each of the past three years and (b) the numbers refused expressed as percentages of the total numbers of applications received.

Comment on this

: As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it will the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

* Refusals are given as percentages of actual decisions in the year rather than of applications received as in many cases applications received in one year would not be decided until the following calendar year.

Jim Mitchell Mr. Mitchell Fine Gael

: Could the Minister say if there has been a decline in the percentage?

Comment on this

: The reply is a very long tabular statement, so I suggest the Deputy waits for the Official Report.

Comment on this

: Is the Minister satisfied with the operations of the planning board?

Comment on this

: I would say it is working reasonably well.
