Processing timber within Ireland

Summary

Blaney argued that exporting available timber instead of processing it domestically reflected inadequate effort, and the Ceann Comhairle said he should table a separate question.

Might I ask the Minister of State whether the large surplus of various types of timber available here is not being processed here is, in fact, an indictment of the lack of effort on the part of this House and its various agencies to get Irish industry to take up the timber available and process it within the country instead of sending it out of the country?

That is a separate question.
