Backing France on the EMS delay

Summary

Blaney asked whether Ireland should support France’s position behind the EMS delay; the Ceann Comhairle ruled it a separate question, and no answer was given.

Might I ask the Minister, with all due regard to the prudence of answering this question, whether it would not be in the interests of this country—and that is the Twenty-six Counties, in case Deputy Harte does not know the difference although he should—for our Government to back the French ploy which seems to be at the heart of the delay in the introduction of the European Monetary System?
