asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on the protest strike by the staff of the National Social Service Council.

This was an unofficial strike which was called off by the staff after a half day. I have met the chairman of the council and given her assurances which she sought about the future interests of the staff.

Was that the chairman of the outgoing council?
