Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Television Reception.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why television reception in the Inistioge, County Kilkenny, area is very bad; if he will take action to have good reception provided for the area and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Tom J. Fitzpatrick Minister of State at the Department of Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. T. J. Fitzpatrick Fianna Fáil

, Dublin South-Central): The improvement of television reception in any particular area is a matter primarily for RTE. I understand that RTE are aware that, due to the nature of the terrain, television reception in the Inistioge area is less than adequate, that they have no immediate plans for improving reception there, but that the matter will be considered further when RTE have attended to areas which have been listed for priority attention.
