Tipperary Land Commission estates

Summary

Griffin requested details on estates held for division in County Tipperary and urged the Commission to act sooner. Hussey said some lands may be allotted in 1979 and would pass on the request for early division.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give the following particulars in respect of each estate, held by the Land Commission, in County Tipperary, on 1 February 1979, (a) name, (b) location, (c) size, (d) how long it has been acquired by the Land Commission and (e) when a division can be expected.

Comment on this

The information requested is set out in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report. It is not possible to indicate at this stage when all the cases listed will be allotted but it is hoped that those indicated with an asterisk will be wholly or partly allotted in 1979. Following is the statement:

County Tipperary

Particulars of lettable lands (apart from insignificant residues of partly allotted properties) in possession of the Land Commission for division.

Comment on this

There is some concern in Tipperary at the length of time these estates have been in the hands of the Land Commission. I would urge him to try to arrange for early divisions.

Comment on this

I will convey the Deputy's remarks to the Land Commission with a view to having the lands divided as soon as possible.
