Dunfanaghy-Creeslough water scheme

Summary

The contract documents were approved, but tendering is for the local authority; it may claim the allocated EEC aid after construction begins and substantial costs are incurred.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the contract has been sanctioned for the Dunfanaghy-Creeslough, Co. Donegal water scheme; and the position regarding the £50,600 allocated from the EEC for this scheme.

Comment on this

I approved the contract documents for this scheme in July 1978. Advertising the scheme for tender is a matter for the local authority.

When work has commenced on the construction of the scheme and substantial expenditure has been incurred thereon, the local authority may submit a claim for payment of an instalment of the FEOGA aid of £50,600 which the EEC Commission allocated to the scheme from the 1977 FEOGA budget.
