Withholding weekly pay from public servants

Summary

O’Leary sought to raise why weekly-paid public servants had not been paid, when payment would be made, and whether their participation in a one-day strike was the reason. The Ceann Comhairle allowed him to state the matter and said he would communicate with him.

I wish to raise a matter on the adjournment but such matters must be raised before 3.30 p.m. on Thursday. Could I have a minute to indicate the material which I would like to raise on the adjournment?

I will permit the Deputy to raise it. The Minister will please wait for a moment.

I propose to raise the following matter on the adjournment: to ask the Minister for Finance why public servants on weekly pay rates are not being paid today, when they will be paid, and whether their participation in the one-day strike is the reason for withholding payment.
