asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if an application (details supplied) has been received from the Art School in Dún Laoghaire, currently organising a communications course, seeking a licence to operate for a short period each week a non-commercial community local television station for the Borough of Dún Laoghaire and seeking to use a surplus community channel on the local piped system; and if he is in a position to assist this group with the application.

(Dublin South-Central): This application was received and the formalities that would have to be complied with—including the submission of evidence that the cable television operators in the area are prepared to relay the local programmes—were explained to the applicant. Consideration of the application is held up pending the submission of the further information required.
