School student unions
Horgan asked whether post-primary students may establish their own representative structures. Wilson said the decision rests with school managers, noted he had no evidence of restrictions, and agreed that students old enough to vote should be old enough to organise.
asked the Minister for Education if post-primary school students have a right to choose their own organisational structures such as students unions in schools in which they are pupils; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Is the Minister not aware that in some schools students who are old enough to elect Members to the Dail are not allowed by the management authorities of their schools to set up representative structures for themselves? Does he not consider that this is an absurd situation and one that he should do something about?
