Marlborough Street site use
The site purchase terms are agreed but not finalized; the Government proposes offices for staff, and the Minister knows of no Corporation plan to build housing there.
asked the Minister for Finance the proposed use of the site recently obtained from Dublin Corporation at Marlborough Street, Dublin 1; if it is proposed to utilise it for classroom or office space or any other use; and if he would reconsider this acquisition if Dublin Corporation expressed a desire to build houses on the site.
Comment on this
Agreement on terms has been reached between Dublin Corporation and the Commissioners of Public Works for the sale of a site at Marlborough Street, but the transaction has not yet been completed.
It is proposed to build offices on the site for the accommodation of Government staff and the corporation are aware of this proposal.
I am not aware that the corporation have any proposals to build houses on the site.
