EEC patients’ treatment arrangements
The Minister said Ireland provides eligible EEC visitors with free health services under an arrangement agreed with medical organisations.
asked the Minister for Health if any agreement exists between him and the medical profession regarding the treatment of EEC patients.
Comment on this
Under EEC regulations we are required to provide a full range of health services free of charge for persons from other member states who have eligibility under these regulations. This requirement was explained to the medical organisations on our entry into the EEC and agreement was reached on the arrangement which now operates for the provision of these services.
