European election television advertising costs

Summary

Enright asked who paid for television adverts encouraging European election voting. O’Kennedy said the European Parliament and Commission Information Offices jointly ran the campaign; his Department had no responsibility.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs, in relation to television advertising encouraging people to vote in the European Elections, who is responsible for payment for the advertising fees.

Comment on this

The advertising campaign to which the Deputy refers was conducted jointly by the Information Offices of the European Parliament and the Commission. My Department has had no responsibility in the matter and the Deputy could more appropriately seek the information he requires from these offices.
