The OPW is building a harbour and associated facilities at Dromod, expected to be completed next year; other land-based amenities fall outside its remit under the Shannon Navigation Acts.
asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange for the Office of Public Works to complete their proposals for development of the amenity area on the shores of Lough Bofin on the River Shannon at Dromod, County Leitrim.

The Office of Public Works are constructing a new harbour, with the necessary associated facilities, at Dromod and it is hoped that that project will be completed next year. The development of other land based amenities in the area would be outside the function of the office under the Shannon Navigation Acts.
