asked the Minister for the Environment when the new house grant will be paid to a person (name supplied) in County Meath who completed work on his house on 26 February 1977.

There is no record in my Department or in Meath County Council of the receipt of a new house grant application in this case. As work commenced before 27 May 1977, the £1,000 new house grant would not be payable and as no application was received for a new house grant under the former income related scheme before 31 December 1977, an application could not be considered at this stage.
