National Enterprise Agency legislation

Summary

Desmond asked when legislation or structural arrangements would establish the National Enterprise Agency. O’Kennedy said discussions with employers and trade unions were ongoing, with agreement on most principal issues, and expected them to conclude soon.

asked the Minister for Finance further to the reply of the former Minister for Economic Planning and Development of 13 December 1979 concerning the establishment of the National Enterprise Agency in accordance with the national understanding for economic and social development when it is proposed to introduce amending legislation or structural arrangements to provide for this agency.

Comment on this

Discussions with the employer and trade union interests are continuing and consensus has been reached on most of the principal issues for decision. I expect that these discussions can be concluded successfully in the near future.
