Departmental appointments
Flanagan asked about appointments, appointees, posts and salaries; Power said there had been no appointments outside Civil Service Commission competitions, normal promotions or scheduled occupations. The Chair noted that Question 21 had gone for written reply.
asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the appointments made by him to his Department since his appointment as a member of the Government, the names of those appointed, the nature of each post and salary attached thereto and if such appointments have been made from within the public service or elsewhere.
Comment on this
There have been no appointments made by me to my Department since my appointment as a member of Government except in the following ways:
(a) made as a result of competitions conducted by the Civil Service Commissioners; (b) arising in the normal course of promotion; and (c) made to posts listed as scheduled occupations in the First schedule to the Civil Service Commissioners Act, 1956.
