White’s right to English answers

Summary

White said the Irish-only answers prevented proper discussion and argued that English-speaking members deserved equal respect and rights in the House.

I am not getting the respect in this House which I deserve. I cannot have a proper discussion with the Minister. I cannot ask her proper questions if she continues to follow me through the medium of Irish. I have nothing against the medium of Irish. I have always fostered it. All I want is for my tradition to be respected in the House which has not been the case in the past.

The Taoiseach has spoken about the two traditions in this island and surely we deserve the same rights as people who have been educated through Irish.
