asked the Minister for Education if he has plans for the provision of a permanent school to replace the prefabs occupied by the 500 pupils in the Presentation Convent, Clane, County Kildare, and, if so, when the new accommodation will be provided.

Tenders for the erection of a permanent school at the Presentation Convent Secondary School, Clane, Co. Kildare, have been the subject of discussion between the school authorities and officers of my Department's building unit. It is expected that further discussions in the matter may take place in the near future.

It is not possible to state at this stage when a contract may be placed for the project or building work commenced.
