Harte sought to raise the laying-off of 19 council employees due to funding cuts; the Chair said he would communicate with him.
Due to the shortness of the debate on the Estimate for the Department of the Environment, I found it impossible to contribute. Last week I gave notice that I proposed, with the permission of the Chair, to raise on the adjournment the question of the paying-off of 19 people from Donegal County Council as a result of financila cut-backs by the Minister.
