asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism if he will encourage the exhibition of works of art in all public and civic buildings under the control of his Department.

While I am sympathetic to the idea of exhibiting works of art in public buildings occupied by my Department, there are practical considerations such as the availability of suitable space and proper conditions which would have to be borne in mind in achieving this ideal. It would of course be dependent on the advice of the Office of Public Works in this latter respect.
