Donegal and national unemployment figures
The Minister said county unemployment percentages were unavailable, but reported 8,229 people on Donegal’s live register and 105,567 nationally, with year-on-year increases of 14.5% and 27.9%.

The numbers on the live register in County Donegal at end September 1980 were 8,229, an increase of 14.5 per cent since end September 1979. The corresponding national figure was 105,567 at end September 1980, an increase of 27.9 per cent over end September 1979.
