asked the Minister for Health if he will sanction the tenders accepted by the Southern Health Board for the provision of additional accommodation for the hospitals at Bantry and Castletownbere, County Cork.

It has not been possible to allow to proceed on these two schemes in view of the current constraints on public expenditur. However, I am keeping the position under examination in order to ensure that work will commence as soon as circum stances permit.
