Boyle Drainage Scheme
The Minister said the scheme could begin early next year once statutory requirements are met, but two departmental reports remain outstanding. Members challenged the delay and asked whether further delays or a shortage of funds would prevent the work.
asked the Minister for Finance if in view of his reply to parliamentary question 279 of 27 May 1979 that work would commence on the Boyle catchment area, including the Lung river, he will state the up-to-date position regarding same.

: Some statutory requirements still need to be complied with in connection with the Boyle drainage scheme. Subject to these being complied with, it is expected that works will commence early next year.
Comment on this
: The statutory period for submitting observations has expired and, as the Deputy knows, we have to notify all Departments and we have not got a report back from two Departments as yet. When we get that we will proceed.
