County Dublin water supply pressure

Summary

Dún Laoghaire Corporation attributes low pressure to friction losses in an old water main and plans to replace it, which should improve the supply.

Liam Cosgrave Mr. L. Cosgrave Fine Gael

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the poor pressure of the water supply to the house of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin and other houses in this area; and if he will take action to improve the supply.

Comment on this

The maintenance and operation of sanitary services schemes is a matter for the sanitary authority concerned. I understand from Dún Laoghaire Corporation that reduced presures in this area are due to high frictional losses in the old existing water main. I also understand that the corporation propose to renew the main and that this will result in an improvement to the supply.
