asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the recommendation of Cork County Council for approval to raise a loan of £17,600 towards the cost of Reen-ascreena group water scheme.

I have already approved a subsidisable special contribution of £43,000 as an exceptional measure towards the cost of headworks for this scheme and the approval of a further contribution as proposed would not be warranted. I have already advised Cork County Council accordingly.
