House grant occupancy requirement

Summary

The Minister said a new-house grant requires the applicant to occupy the completed house as their normal residence; an inspector must verify this before payment.

asked the Minister for the Environment if it is necessary for a house, which is completed, to contain a bed in order that the owner receive a grant for building the house.

Comment on this

One of the conditions of payment of new house grants is that the applicant must occupy the house, on completion, as his normal place of residence. Accordingly, my Department's inspector must be satisfied that this requirement is met before certifying a grant for payment.
