asked the Minister for the Environment if he will ascertain from Kerry County Council the reason for the delay in the erection of a public light at Coastal Terrace, Knightstown, Valentia, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The planning and provision of public lighting at this location are matters wholly within the discretion of Kerry County Council and do not require to be submitted for my sanction. I do not therefore intervene in the operations of a local authority in such matters.
