asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism the number of jobs created in the industrial sector in County Cork from 1977 to date.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that, based on the findings of its employment surveys, the total number engaged in manufacturing employment in County Cork increased by nearly 1,000 between January 1978 and 1 January 1980. Final figures for 1 January 1981 are not yet available.
