asked the Minister for Energy the average fuel cost per unit of electricity generated by the ESB before transmission on the grid for the last three years in respect of which information is available given in the form of a reply to a parliamentary question on 15 February 1979 extended for gas fired stations.

George Colley Minister for Energy (Mr. Colley) Fianna Fáil

The information requested by the Deputy, as furnished to me by the ESB, is as follows:

Average fuel cost in pence per unit sent out

*The natural gas-fired generators at Marina, Cork, were only commissioned during the course of 1978-79, the figure is for part of year only.

†The figure of 1.182p given by the ESB for a reply to a question by the Deputy on 29/11/79 has been found to be inaccurate.
