The total storage capacity of the tank farm at the Whiddy Island oil terminal is 7.02 million barrels. Under an agreement with the owners of the terminal, a minimum of one million barrels of oil is held on the State's behalf. This is equivalent to 14 per cent of the total capacity of the terminal.
