Written Answers. - Circuit Court Criminal Cases.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the very unsatisfactory conditions in which criminal cases are recorded in the Circuit Courts; and if he will take the necessary steps to improve the system.

Gerard Collins Minister for Justice (Mr. G. Collins) Fianna Fáil

I am not so aware. I assume the Deputy is referring to the conditions under which court stenographers record criminal proceedings in the Circuit Courts. No Complaints have been made to me either by the Judiciary, by county registrars or indeed by court stenographers about the conditions under which the stenographers work in the courts.
