asked the Minister for Defence whether it is the practice to inform Defence Force recruits, whom it is not intended to approve finally, the reasons for their rejection; and, if not, if he will ensure in future and in the interests of natural justice that full information regarding the reasons for rejection will be given to them.

It is the normal practice to inform recruits who are not finally approved for service of the reasons for withholding such approval. Cases, however, arise where it is not feasible for security or other reasons to divulge to the individuals concerned the reasons for their discharge.
