There is no record in my Department of an application for a housing grant from the person named. However, house improvement and water/sewerage grants were paid on 29 April 1981 to a person with a different christian name and the same address and this may be the case in question. Recent correspondence from Westmeath County Council indicated that a disabled persons' grant application is also being considered by them.

There has been no undue delay on the part of the Department in dealing with this case. Evidence of planning permission, which was requested in February 1980, is still awaited from the applicant. When this is received and the Department are notified that the works have been completed an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grants, if in order.

This grant cannot be paid until evidence of planning permission is furnished by the applicant. He was requested in November 1979 to furnish this evidence but, to date, has not done so.
