Signing of Dublin school deeds of trust

Summary

The Minister said trustees had been named and deeds for most schools in greater Dublin had been signed. He could not give a date for completing the rest; Collins said progress was unsatisfactory.

Edward Collins Mr. E. Collins Fine Gael

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the limited industrial action taken in the Dublin area because of the non-signing of the deeds of trust by the parties involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am so aware.

My Department have been furnished with the names of the trustees to sign the deeds of trust on behalf of the County Dublin Vocational Education Committee. The deeds for the majority of the schools in the greater Dublin area have now been signed.

When does the Minister expect that all the deeds of trust will be signed for the greater Dublin area?

I cannot give a precise date but I think the Deputy will agree we have made very substantial progress.
