CRV certificate fees

Summary

The Minister said higher fees for certificates of reasonable value, effective 2 February 1981, were expected to bring in £140,000 in 1981. He clarified that this was the total estimated income, not £140,000 extra over the Estimates.

asked the Minister for the Environment the source from which he envisages additional income accruing to his Department in 1981 over 1980 by way of appropriations-in-aid under subhead W.4.

Comment on this

The main source of the additional income which it is estimated will accrue to my Department in the current year under subhead W.4. is the increased fees, from 2 February 1981 for certificates of reasonable value in accordance with article 6 of the Housing Regulations, 1980 (Amendment) Regulations, 1981.

Comment on this

By what amount were those fees increased at that time?

Comment on this

They were increased from £20 to £25 for one application and £6 for each additional application. The total amount will be £140,000 extra.

Comment on this

In other words the Minister intends seeing an income of £100,000 in excess of the amount set out in the Book of Estimates.

Comment on this

It is estimated that £140,000 will be received in 1981.

Comment on this

Was that the total?

Comment on this

Yes. That is the total. It is not extra.
